Speaking of self discipline...

Wow. That first post was back in April. And here it is, mid-November. So many things have happened. Danny's surgery at 12 weeks for craniosynostosis and all the milestones that followed nursing issues, crawling, standing, walking - Claire turned 4 - Liam started kindergarten - I began working more intensively. And then there is our budget issues. Oh the roof? Yeah, that had to be fixed. No more squirrels peeing in the attic please. Oh and the minivan, that big scrape and dent? Yeah, that one. That was my fault. And it's still there, waiting for us to get some $$ to fix it. Oh and that investment property? The one where my sister is living on subsidized rent, courtesy of yours truly? Yeah, she's going to have to move, and we're going to have to rent it out to someone else. Meanwhile it's costing us, every month. Grrrrrr. Oh and those medical bills? The five bills that I pay every month? Yeah those. Well they're paid off this month, but they're going to have to wait. December is the costliest month for us. Not just the holidays. No no, that wasnt enough. It is also the TWO children who have birthdays then - 12.25 and 12.26 to be exact. Could the timing be any suckier?

So what is the upshot, exactly? Well, it means that our savings account is seriously depleted, and I really need to get back to work on a more regular basis to dig ourselves out of the giant hole we're in. Friends and family seem shocked, but it's the truth. If it can happen to us, it can happen to anyone.
