Wow. That first post was back in April. And here it is, mid-November. So many things have happened. Danny's surgery at 12 weeks for craniosynostosis and all the milestones that followed nursing issues, crawling, standing, walking - Claire turned 4 - Liam started kindergarten - I began working more intensively. And then there is our budget issues. Oh the roof? Yeah, that had to be fixed. No more squirrels peeing in the attic please. Oh and the minivan, that big scrape and dent? Yeah, that one. That was my fault. And it's still there, waiting for us to get some $$ to fix it. Oh and that investment property? The one where my sister is living on subsidized rent, courtesy of yours truly? Yeah, she's going to have to move, and we're going to have to rent it out to someone else. Meanwhile it's costing us, every month. Grrrrrr. Oh and those medical bills? The five bills that I pay every month? Yeah those. Well they're paid off this month, but they're going to have to wait. December is the costliest month for us. Not just the holidays. No no, that wasnt enough. It is also the TWO children who have birthdays then - 12.25 and 12.26 to be exact. Could the timing be any suckier?
So what is the upshot, exactly? Well, it means that our savings account is seriously depleted, and I really need to get back to work on a more regular basis to dig ourselves out of the giant hole we're in. Friends and family seem shocked, but it's the truth. If it can happen to us, it can happen to anyone.

Finally.
Good lord, I've wanted...no...NEEDED to put up a blog for a long time now. I'm so happy to have taken the leap and got the thing started.
So what you say?
Well, the so what is this: I'm a very busy mom of three kids age 5, 3.5 and 3 months, juggling freelance work when I can get it with our child-rearing-death-preventing and hell hole I MEAN house rehabbing habits with our fun friends and family and myriad other life demands. Like money and time. Oh and self-discipline.
Admit it. You were impressed when I used a $.02 scrabble word: myriad.
So this blog will be about all of the good the bad and the ugly, my life as a quasi-suburban, semi-working mom of three. I say quasi because of where we live, not my status as a mom! A topic for another blog, hmmm....
